PyPLANE0.1-1

PyPLANE lets users graph and examine systems of ordinary differential equations using computational methods, with solving ODE systems at the center of its educational workflow. It supports lessons, assigned exercises, and independent study by making differential-equation work the primary activity rather than an occasional feature. Users can explore the behavior of equations through a graphing-calculator-style interface designed for calculus and differential-equation learning.

The program is intended for learners at any level of calculus or differential-equation experience. Beginners and experienced students can use it while testing the project, and its open-source model also allows participants to help identify issues and improve the software. Developed by Julian Tarquin Walsh, PyPLANE provides an open-source alternative to Pplane and Dfield, proprietary Java applications commonly used as academic teaching tools.

PyPLANE is still under development, so users may encounter bugs, including problems that have not yet been discovered. Version 0.1-1 runs on Linux systems with snapd and targets x86_64, also called amd64, architecture. Its distribution is connected to the project's official build and open-source development, giving Linux users a release path aligned with the software they are testing and studying.
