Plot a destination on the map and follow its bearing while monitoring conditions developing along your route. Road Trip Radar combines travel navigation with situational awareness instead of relying on fixed turn-by-turn instructions, giving explorers and motorcyclists more context about the road ahead.

The map can show live, animated precipitation radar from RainViewer, with adjustable opacity and playback controls for examining how weather changes over time. Wind speed and direction, current temperature, and the temperature’s one-hour trend appear alongside the map, helping riders prepare for changing conditions or consider avoiding a storm. Distance rings centered on your location adjust with the zoom level to provide a changing sense of scale.

Light, Dark, and Auto map styles are available, with custom colors for both the light and dark styles. A speed readout supports metric or imperial units and has an adjustable font size. Version 1.15.0 adds basic route management with multiple waypoints, so an active navigation point can accept another point as part of the route or have it replaced.

Road Trip Radar runs on Android 8.0+ and supports arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 architectures. It has no tracking, accounts, or ads, and is distributed under an open-source license.
