Rootless Pixel Launcher replaces Android’s default home screen with a Pixel-style interface, giving the user a familiar place to open apps, reach search, and organize the main screen. It follows the Android Open Source Project experience closely while adding selected features associated with Pixel Launcher. Its deliberately limited scope concentrates on launcher essentials instead of presenting a general customization suite.

The search bar sits at the bottom of the interface, making it easy to reach from the home screen. Wallpaper-based theme selection can adjust the launcher’s appearance to match the chosen wallpaper. Users can apply standard icon packs or adaptive icon packs, including Google Icons, to change how applications appear. On Android 8.0, the launcher also lets users choose among available icon shapes.

It suits Android users who want a Pixel-like home screen while retaining compatibility with older system versions. Rootless Pixel Launcher runs on Android 5.0 and newer, uses a Universal architecture, and is open-source. The current release is version 3.9.1, and Pixel users can also choose the separately provided Magisk version as another distribution option.
