About
RustDesk lets you view and control another computer remotely, turning a distant machine into an interactive desktop you can operate from your own screen. It addresses remote support and access needs while serving as a self-hosted alternative to TeamViewer. Connections can use RustDesk’s rendezvous and relay server, a server you operate yourself, or a rendezvous/relay service that you build for your environment. The application is designed to work out of the box without configuration, while self-hosting gives you full control over the data path and server infrastructure.
It suits support technicians, administrators, and individuals who need to reach a computer from another location or assist someone at a distance. As a System Tools utility published by rustdesk, it is written in Rust and released as open-source software, with contributions welcomed from the community. Desktop editions use Flutter for their interface, while the older Sciter interface is deprecated.
On Windows, RustDesk 1.4.9 runs on Windows 8 or later and Server 2012 or later, with x64 listed as the architecture. This release supplies both EXE and MSI packages for x86-64 and AArch64 systems. The wider release family also includes builds for Ubuntu, macOS, Android, and Flatpak, plus web access, so the remote endpoint can extend beyond Windows.
Requires Windows 8+ · Server 2012+ · Architecture: x64
