Saber lets you write, display, organize, and protect handwritten notes, turning paper-style work into a digital collection for devices of different sizes. Its simple interface is aimed at people who prefer handwriting to text entry, including students taking notes in class or during study. Notes synchronize across the user’s devices so the same material remains available on larger and smaller screens.

Dark mode changes notes to white ink on a black background for easier viewing in low light, and it can invert images and PDFs placed inside notes. The highlighter uses canvas compositing so overlapping strokes remain consistent and cover less of the text beneath them. Nested folders support organizing notes to any depth, while recently used notes remain reachable from the home screen even when stored several folder levels down.

Saber can store notes on the official Saber server, another server, or a server hosted by the user. Its two-password protection is designed to secure notes even when the storage server is entirely controlled by someone else. In the Reading & Writing category, its open-source code also lets users inspect how it handles their data.

Version 1.36.1 improves the login flow and adjusts editor scrolling to feel less slippery. It also fixes accounts with unlimited storage quotas and corrects folder sorting on the browse page. Saber requires Android 7.0 or later and the arm64-v8a architecture.
