About

SafeSignICMiniDriver connects a smart card to Windows applications that need secure access to the card. It provides SafeSign’s full middleware package, placing the software layer between the physical card and the programs that use it. The package brings together the components required for secure smart-card connectivity instead of serving as a separate end-user application.

People and organizations use it when a Windows application incorporates a smart card into its security process. Compatible programs can communicate with the card through the SafeSign environment, allowing card use to form part of their protected operations. This makes the software relevant to deployments where smart-card access is built into an application’s normal security workflow. The card remains the security device, while SafeSignICMiniDriver supplies the connection that lets the application work with it.

A.E.T. Europe B.V. publishes SafeSignICMiniDriver for Windows systems using the x64 architecture. The current release is version 4.7.0.0. It is intended to run alongside compatible Windows applications rather than act as a standalone program for an unrelated card-management task. Its distinguishing role is the complete SafeSign middleware layer, which brings the smart card and application together in one Windows-based security setup.
