SerialPipe carries data between a USB serial port and UDP, turning an Android device into a bridge between serial equipment and a network connection. Data received on either side is passed through to the other, allowing serial devices to communicate with software or hardware that speaks UDP. This is useful when a serial link must be exposed across a UDP-based network without relying on a desktop computer.

Its behavior follows the Linux serial-to-UDP bridge command model, with the serial port operated in raw mode and UDP set to listen for traffic. Users can configure the serial baud rate and the UDP port to match the connected equipment and network service. The bridge also supports reusing the UDP listening address and handling separate connections, giving its network behavior more flexibility than a fixed one-to-one forwarding setup.

The app is aimed at developers, technicians, and embedded-system users connecting serial hardware to UDP services from an Android device. It is particularly suited to field equipment, testing arrangements, and other situations where the serial endpoint and network endpoint need to meet through Android rather than a general desktop command-line utility.

SerialPipe is open-source software for Android 4.2 and later, delivered with Universal architecture. Current version v0.0.3 fixes a broken release build, making that release usable where the earlier build problem prevented normal operation.
