About
Sherpr lets an Android phone share files and links with another device through a browser-based handoff. The sender chooses the item in Sherpr, while the recipient uses the generated sharing page to receive it on a computer, tablet, or another phone. This makes the app useful when moving content between devices without relying on a platform-specific sharing protocol.
Its browser-oriented workflow keeps the receiving side lightweight: the other device can participate through its existing web browser rather than installing the Android application. Sherpr is intended for everyday transfers such as sending a document to a desktop, passing a link to a second phone, or moving a file between devices during work or travel. The interface centers on selecting content and presenting it for access on the paired device, rather than organizing a permanent online library.
Sherpr suits Android users who regularly exchange content across different devices and want a focused handoff utility instead of a full synchronization client. It is distributed as open-source software, allowing its implementation to be examined and developed publicly. Android is the supported platform, and the receiving device’s browser is part of the sharing workflow.

Packaging: the F-Droid build now lets AGP install the missing Android SDK components itself (platforms, build-tools, CMake), removing the manual sdkmanager step from the recipe. Sherpr's own release CI still builds fully hermetically from its pinned image. Docs: corrected a stale build note about a second NDK (one r28c toolchain builds everything) and pointed the Herdr links at the renamed herdrdev/herdr repository. No app code changes.
