About
Shotcut is a free, open-source video editor available for Windows. It is designed for people who need software to work with video rather than only play media. Its open-source license allows the program to be used as an openly developed video editing tool. Shotcut is also described as cross-platform, while this catalog entry is provided for Windows.
The main purpose of Shotcut is video editing, making it suitable for users who want to create or modify video content on a Windows computer. Its category placement is Video & Media Players, reflecting its relationship to software used for handling video and other media. The available facts identify Shotcut as an editor, but do not specify individual editing functions or technical requirements. This makes it appropriate for readers looking for a general open-source video editing application without relying on proprietary licensing.
MirrorNest distributes Shotcut by mirroring the official build directly on its own storage. Before publication, the mirrored build is scanned for malware. This distribution approach gives Windows users a catalog-based way to obtain the official build while preserving the software's open-source status.
