Listen to audio captured from a Windows PC on your Android phone while controlling playback remotely. SoundRemote works with its companion SoundRemote server, linking the phone and computer for listening and remote media control.

The app can send keyboard commands to the PC from on-screen controls, and custom hotkeys let you assign actions to events such as shaking the phone or receiving a phone call. A shake can skip to the next track, while video playback can be paused from the phone’s lock screen. The Android media notification provides PC playback controls and now indicates when SoundRemote is disconnected or muted, with a button for muting or unmuting the app.

Version 0.6.0 updates the Opus library to 1.6.1, adds support for 16 KB page sizes, and migrates media handling to Jetpack Media3. It also adds monochrome app icon support, updates dependencies, includes small fixes and optimizations, and sets Android 6.0 as the minimum supported version.

SoundRemote suits listeners who want to manage computer audio from across a room, during presentations, or while the phone is locked. It is an open-source Android application supporting arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 devices.
