About
Explore a three-dimensional, photo-realistic sky in real time with stellarium-plars, which presents celestial scenes as they would appear to an observer. The display provides a visual reference for naked-eye observing, binocular viewing, and work with a small telescope. Its continuously rendered sky makes changing positions and visible relationships easier to examine than a static reference image.
Astronomy students can use it to connect lessons with an immediate view of the sky, while teachers can demonstrate how the same scene relates to ordinary eyesight and optical instruments. Amateur observers can consult the simulated view during an observing session to relate what appears on screen to what they can see above them. The 3D presentation is particularly useful when learning to recognize objects and understand their arrangement in the sky.
stellarium-plars is education software published by Paul Larson and is distributed under an open-source license. The current version is 0.21.0. It runs on Linux systems with snapd and is built for x86_64 hardware, also known as amd64.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: x86_64 (amd64)
