About

TechPowerUp GPU-Z identifies the graphics hardware in a Windows PC and presents its adapter, display, memory, clock, and overclock details in one compact utility. It reports GPU memory size, type, speed, and bus width, alongside default, 3D, and boost clock values when the hardware exposes them. Support covers graphics devices from NVIDIA, AMD, ATI, and Intel, making it useful for confirming installed hardware and its configuration.

A built-in GPU load test checks the graphics card’s PCI-Express lane configuration, while validation helps verify that the reported results are accurate. GPU-Z can also create a backup of the graphics card BIOS, giving technicians and enthusiasts a record of the card’s firmware. Its detailed readings suit hardware diagnostics, system documentation, overclocking checks, and investigating whether a card operates according to its specifications.

Version 2.71.0 adds a GeForce 50 Hot Spot sensor and reports the hottest memory chip, with a tooltip that shows temperatures from every memory chip. NVIDIA users also gain an Overclocking readout on the Advanced tab with OC frequencies, including XBAR and SYS clocks, the video clock, and boost-lock status. NVIDIA SYS, L2, and Video clocks can additionally be enabled in the sensor settings, where they are disabled by default, and a sensor reports PCI-Express throughput in GB/s.

The program runs on Windows as an x86 release and is suited to enthusiasts, technicians, system builders, and anyone checking a graphics card’s identity, thermals, clocks, firmware, or bus behavior.
