About
Sketch a LaTeX symbol to locate its matching notation in Tex Match. The application lets you search through more than 1,000 different LaTeX symbols by drawing their visual shapes, which is useful when you recognize a glyph but cannot recall its name or command. This approach replaces memorization with a direct visual lookup for mathematical and technical writing.
Tex Match is suited to students learning LaTeX, instructors preparing teaching material, researchers writing papers, and anyone composing documents that use unfamiliar notation. Typical uses include identifying a symbol during document editing, checking notation while solving exercises, and building familiarity with LaTeX symbols through repeated reference. Its education focus centers on finding symbols from their appearance instead of searching by text alone.
The current 1.2.0 release runs on Linux with snapd and supports x86_64 (amd64) systems. Zoey Sheffield publishes Tex Match as open-source software.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: x86_64 (amd64)
