Texture De-Lighter2.2.2

Strip cast shadows and ambient occlusion from 3D model textures to create a new model with a de-lit texture, making the assets easier to prepare for later use. Agisoft Texture De-Lighter is a stand-alone Windows utility for artists, technicians, and other people who need focused cleanup of model texture images; version 2.2.2 runs on x64 systems.

You mark the texture by painting rough strokes over areas known to be lit or shadowed, choosing the corresponding Shadow and Lit colors from the toolbar. The software uses this rough illumination map to classify texture pixels into lit and shadowed groups, while brush-size controls, area tools, and other toolbar options support the markup. Guidance can be supplied entirely inside De-Lighter, without an ambient occlusion map or other extra data. Spatially consistent strokes, including one confidently lit or shadowed sample per material, are sufficient because exact shadow boundaries are not required.

Preview evaluates the markup and processing settings on a texture reduced to one-quarter of its original dimensions, while Process applies the algorithm at full size. If uneven shadows remain, Clear Shadow lets you reset affected regions, and you can add lit samples revealed by the first pass. Brightness changes and complex material variation may produce overly bright patches or color leaks, so Highlights suppression and Color artifacts suppression are available to reduce those artifacts; advanced options also include shadow scale maps.
