tipitaka-pali-projector1.4.1

Read the Pali Tipitaka alongside English translations with tipitaka-pali-projector, giving readers a practical way to study Buddhist scripture in both languages. It supports close consultation of individual passages, allowing students to examine Pali wording while using the translation as a guide. Published by bhikkhu subhuti, it is intended for people who study or reference Buddhist texts in Pali and English.

Multi-language dictionary support helps users investigate Pali terminology through dictionary resources. Searches can be performed in Pali-English line-by-line text or in English, supporting readers who begin with either the original passage or its translation. These tools suit personal study, classroom reading, translation work, and textual reference.

Version 1.2.1 brought 43,400 edits to the Ultimate Pali English Dictionary, expanding it to 168,000 entries. That enlarged reference is useful when a passage requires more detailed examination of vocabulary, spelling, or meaning beyond the translation alone.

The current version is 1.4.1 for Linux and requires Linux with snapd on amd64 architecture. The software is distributed under a freeware license. Its focused combination of bilingual scripture reading, searchable line-by-line text, English lookup, and extensive dictionary support distinguishes it from a basic electronic text reader.
