Ultimate brings photo organization, RAW development, and layered image editing into a single workflow, helping photographers manage collections and refine images without switching between separate programs. Developed by ACD Systems International Inc., it combines non-destructive adjustments with detailed compositing tools for both everyday photo work and demanding creative projects. Its organization features use AI face recognition, duplicate detection, metadata controls, SVG support, and connections to Dropbox and OneDrive to help users find and maintain their image libraries.

For groups of files, Ultimate can resize, rename, and watermark images in batches, while Media Mode and People Mode provide focused ways to browse and arrange content. The editor handles more than 500 camera RAW formats, including files from Canon, Nikon, and GoPro, and provides parametric adjustments, tone wheels, LUT filters, and GPU-accelerated processing. Layer-based editing includes blend modes, masks, Photoshop plugin support, and Pixel Targeting for selective color and brightness changes. Channel mixing, radial gradient sliders, noise-reduction brushes, HDR blending, and focus stacking extend its specialized editing capabilities.
