Connect Ultrasonic to a Subsonic, compatible, or OpenSubsonic server and stream that server’s music collection to an Android device. It provides a compact, responsive listening client for people who keep their music library on a personal or hosted server rather than relying on a local phone collection.

The app supports multiple servers, server-side playlists, bookmarks, shuffled playback, and jukebox mode, while tracks can be downloaded for offline listening. Its Material You interface offers both light and dark themes, and it combines five-star and heart ratings into one rating system. ReplayGain support helps manage playback volume, while updated translations broaden the app’s language coverage.

Ultrasonic is intended for Subsonic users at home, on the move, or in locations with unreliable connectivity; the server must provide the OpenSubsonic API version 1.7.0 or later. Version 4.9.0 remembers the last song when playback resumes through Bluetooth, Android Auto, or another control outside the main app, and it preserves the playlist view after screen rotation. It also handles album names ending in a period during downloads and improves recovery when cover-art retrieval fails. The open-source Android software is distributed under the GNU General Public License version 3, supports Android 8.0 and later, and uses a universal architecture.
