Send plain-text or HTML email from a desktop command prompt with UnimailClient, using a direct executable interface to Unimail. It is Unimail’s first executable client program, designed to get a message out quickly without requiring users to work through a larger application. Underneath, it sends mail through the unimail-go-sdk.

Recipients can be specified individually or in groups, with support for CC and BCC fields. Attachments are supplied with repeated --file options, each containing a name;path pair separated as required, while --route lets a message use a specified route. The client reads its API key from the UNIMAIL_KEY environment variable by default, and -k or --key can override that value for a particular command. Version, update, and upgrade subcommands manage release-related tasks, while -v, -V, and --version show version information and -h or --help displays usage guidance.

The update command only checks for a newer UnimailClient release; upgrade checks the latest release, obtains the asset matching the operating system and CPU architecture, and replaces the running executable. Automatic upgrading is available for direct-release and locally built binaries, but package-manager installations such as APT/PPA, Winget, or Homebrew disable that function and should be upgraded through their respective package manager; update remains available for release checks.
