About
VideoCapture records LabChart data together with synchronized video and audio tracks, creating a coordinated recording that can be revisited after the session. It solves the timing problem that arises when data, camera footage, and sound are captured as separate files and later have to be matched manually. During playback, the data trace, video, and audio remain aligned, so a user can inspect a measured change alongside the corresponding visible or audible event.
The Video Capture Module is intended for LabChart workflows in which synchronized observation matters, such as reviewing an experiment or checking an event against recorded measurements. A typical session consists of recording while LabChart collects its data, then replaying the result to compare the channels and tracks at the same point in time. That coordinated capture-and-review process distinguishes VideoCapture from an ordinary camera recorder or an unsynchronized audio or video file.
ADInstruments publishes VideoCapture in the System Tools category for Windows, and the current release is version 1.2.0400 for x86 systems. Because it is a LabChart module, LabChart is part of the intended software setup for making and reviewing these recordings. This release improves file-saving behavior when the original video files are no longer available, helping the save operation handle that situation more effectively.
