About

Vistumbler scans nearby wireless networks and presents detected access points in a visual map. It builds that view from wireless information and GPS data collected during the scan, giving each observed network geographic context when location data is available. The result helps users document where access points are found and understand the distribution of wireless networks around a location.

To use it, a technician, network administrator, or curious Windows user can run a scan while moving through an area, then examine the recorded access points on the resulting visualization. GPS-assisted collection is particularly useful for field surveys, wireless coverage checks, and locating networks across a building or outdoor site. Because the program focuses on observed access points and their positions, it turns a local wireless scan into information that can be inspected spatially. Written in AutoIt, Vistumbler is published by Andrew Calcutt.
