About
On Linux systems with snapd, WhatsApp Desktop brings WhatsApp conversations into a desktop window so users can communicate from a computer instead of relying only on another device. It handles written messages, recorded voice messages, and shared files within conversations. As a Communication app, it supports everyday personal or group contact from a desktop workspace.
Notifications for incoming messages and calls can alert users while the conversation window is out of view. A voice recording can be sent as part of a chat, while documents and other files can be exchanged alongside text and audio. These features suit people answering messages during computer-based work, sending a spoken reply, or sharing an attachment in an ongoing conversation.
Sayedul Sayem publishes the program as open-source software for x86_64 (amd64) systems. The current release is 1.0.1-edge-1. Automatic updates are delivered through the Snap Store, allowing the package to receive newer releases through that channel. Its desktop presentation is useful for people who want message alerts and several conversation formats available while other tasks remain in progress.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: x86_64 (amd64)
