About

Assign a single installed app—or a shortcut inside one—to Android’s built-in accessibility button or accessibility shortcut, giving you a direct system-level way to reach a chosen action. Accessibility Button Launcher uses Android’s own accessibility trigger rather than a floating overlay, custom launcher layer, or separate control, so activating it opens only the selected destination. Its initial guidance helps configure the trigger, and it explains how to recover when an update disables the accessibility service or when aggressive background protection stops that service.

The picker has separate Apps and App shortcuts modes, with shortcuts grouped under their respective apps; apps that support creating shortcuts expose them in the same list. This enables actions such as opening a composer for a new message or starting a new note instead of merely opening the parent app. If the selected app disappears, the launcher tells you what needs correction rather than failing silently.

An in-app FAQ, refined interface, and logs that survive crashes add practical support, while those logs remain local for debugging. The accessibility service responds only to the selected button or shortcut, settings stay on the device, and the app includes no analytics, advertising, crash reporting, cloud sync, or network data collection.

Accessibility Button Launcher is open-source software in the System Tools category for Android 11 and later, with arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 support. The current Beta 4 release adds app-shortcut launching alongside regular app launching.

What's new in vBeta 4

The button can now open an app shortcut, not just an app. For example, jump straight to composing a new message or starting a new note.

  • The picker has two modes: Apps and App shortcuts. Shortcuts are listed per app, and apps that let you create a shortcut offer it from the same list.
  • Added an in-app FAQ section
  • Improve overall app UI/UX
  • Improved in-app logs. They now persist across crashes. Logs are local only, this feature is meant for debugging issues.

App permissions

Read straight from this app's own installer file — the real access it declares it can request, not a guess.

  • Show notifications
  • Request Ignore Battery Optimizations
  • Prevent the device from sleeping
  • View network connections
  • Run automatically at startup
  • Run a foreground service
  • com.pedronveloso.a11ybutton.dynamic Receiver Not Exported Permission
