Audacity4.0.0

Record a voice, instrument, podcast segment, or other sound on a Mac, then arrange and edit it across multiple tracks in the same application. Audacity also handles quick audio edits and exports, making it useful for both complete productions and small corrections. It supports major audio formats, including WAV, MP3, FLAC, and Ogg, and can convert between them.

Audacity 4.0.0 introduces an updated interface, Workspaces, and productivity improvements, while allowing more customization and flexibility in everyday editing. Its Spectrogram view displays frequency content visually, and scientific Vamp analyzers provide tools for examining audio in greater detail. Third-party extensions, including VST3 and Nyquist plugins, add effects and other production capabilities.

Musicians, podcasters, voice creators, and anyone who needs to record, edit, or export sound can use it for home projects, spoken-word work, and general audio experimentation. Audio.com, its online companion, supports project collaboration, versioned backups, and sharing or publishing finished work. MuseHub is Audacity’s official distributor and also provides Muse Sounds sampled instruments, Elements looping sound clips, and Muse FX effects plugins.
