Set a nearby Bluetooth LE beacon to trigger changes on your device when it enters a defined region, leaves it, or comes within range. Beacon Locator lets you assign responses to individual beacons, connecting their presence or absence with location-aware device behavior. This gives users a way to automate actions around rooms, workplaces, vehicles, or other places where a beacon is installed.

Each supported event can run an unlimited number of actions, including launching an application, opening a URL, retrieving the device’s current location, or broadcasting an intent action. The app can also change the sound profile between Normal and Silent modes. Its Tasker support passes beacon-triggered events into Tasker, allowing those events to start more elaborate automation sequences.

For example, detecting a bedroom beacon can switch the device to Silent mode, while losing that beacon can restore Normal mode. The app suits people who use Bluetooth beacons to control device behavior based on proximity or location. Beacon Locator is a System Tools application whose current 1.2.2 release supports Android 4.3 and later on Universal architecture, and it is distributed as open-source software.
