BetterAudio26.6.2

Set a separate volume, equalization level, and audio device for every app with BetterAudio. It solves the problem of one system-wide audio setting forcing music, calls, and editing work to share the same level or speakers. A music player can use one listening level, a video-call app another, while a media editor routes sound to a chosen device.

Use the per-app controls to adjust loudness, shape frequencies with EQ, and select the appropriate audio device independently for each program. This gives people who switch between entertainment, communication, and production software a way to tailor sound to each task. It fits sessions that combine music playback, video calls, and media editing, where each application may need different audio treatment.

BetterAudio runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. The current version is 26.6.2, and the software is freeware in the Music & Audio category. Its defining feature is the separation of volume, equalization, and device selection at the app level rather than treating every open program alike.
