bingtray0.0.16

bingtray places Bing’s image of the day on the user’s desktop as wallpaper, turning the currently featured picture into the day’s visual backdrop. It functions as a cross-platform Bing daily-image wallpaper downloader, giving users a focused way to select that image instead of searching for wallpaper separately. The program connects the desktop’s appearance with Bing’s continually changing daily imagery.

Its main task is choosing the day’s Bing picture for use as the desktop wallpaper, rather than editing or managing images as a general graphics program. Implemented in Rust, bingtray is aimed at Linux users who want a small utility for refreshing their desktop with Bing’s featured image. It fits situations such as maintaining a changing workstation background while keeping the process centered on one daily source.

The current release is version 0.0.16 and runs on Linux with snapd installed. It is built for x86_64, also known as amd64, so that architecture is required. bingtray is open-source, and its focused role places it in the Photo & Graphics category.
