About

vimix is an open-source graphics-design application for Linux. It performs graphical mixing and blending of several movie clips and computer-generated graphics. The software is designed for creating changing visual compositions from these sources in real time.

It applies image-processing effects while the material is being mixed. Its intuitive, hands-on interface provides direct control over image opacity and shape. These controls let the operator adjust how visual layers appear and interact during use. The result can be used to produce live graphics for concerts and VJ-ing sessions.

vimix is intended for Linux users working with live visual performance and real-time image composition. The output image is typically shown full-screen on an external monitor or projector. It can also be recorded or streamed live, although the output contains no audio.

As a Linux program in the graphics-design category, vimix fits systems used for live visual production rather than general image editing. Its open-source license allows it to be used as open-source software within that environment. MirrorNest distributes the official build directly from its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing it.
