Edit photographs and graphics with layers, filters, text, cropping, resizing, masking, blending, and the magic-wand selection tool in Photocrea, an advanced editor from vikdevelop. It embeds the Photopea web application in an Electron wrapper, so editing takes place on the device using its CPU and GPU, with files processed locally rather than uploaded. The editor is useful for preparing social-media images, creating presentation or school artwork, designing promotional material, retouching product photos, and producing graphics for websites or online stores.

Photocrea opens and saves PSD files and also handles XCF from GIMP, Sketch files, Adobe XD documents, CorelDRAW CDR files, FIG files from WinFIG, RAW images, and TGA images. Its broader format support includes PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, WEBP, SVG, PDF, AI, AVIF, DDS, HEIC, TIFF, MP4, PDN, EPS, INDD, and Figma files, plus more than 40 additional formats. Camera raw files such as DNG, CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, RW2, RAF, ORF, and FFF can be adjusted for exposure, color balance, contrast, highlights, and shadows.

Designers can create vector logos, icons, and illustrations, while advanced tools include Levels, Curves, Gaussian Blur, Liquify, Puppet Warp, one-click background removal, and text-described content replacement. Photocrea runs on Linux and is distributed as open-source software; the MIT license applies to its Electron wrapper, while the embedded Photopea web application uses a proprietary license.

Version 2.4.1 adds a native network ad blocker that stops intrusive third-party advertising and tracking from loading and fixes ads reappearing after upstream web-app changes. The Photopea Premium prompt in the right sidebar remains hardcoded in the core layout because removing it would break the interface and editing tools.
