About
Search a running game’s memory, locate values such as score, lives, or ammunition, and change them to alter gameplay. Bit Slicer’s memory scanner narrows searches for integers, floating-point numbers, strings, byte arrays, and pointers, including searches based on incremental changes across a process’s entire virtual memory space. Variables can be added, removed, or edited, while pointer addresses can be followed by dereferencing them.
A live memory view presents data in a hex-editor-style window, with options to edit it, save memory dumps to disk, and change memory protection attributes. Its debugger shows which instructions access a selected variable, displays live disassembly, and supports breakpoints, backtraces, thread-register manipulation, and stepping into, over, or out of instructions. Users can alter instruction bytes directly, assemble replacements including NOP instructions, inject assembly code during execution, pause or resume the process, and automate virtual-memory or debugger work with scripts.
Designed for Mac gamers experimenting with single-player titles, Bit Slicer also evaluates mathematical expressions during searches, such as calculating 58 × 8, and supports undoing or redoing many operations, including searches. Cheat configurations can be saved as slice documents for sharing, while macOS features include automatic saving, document versioning, window restoration, Notification Center, App Nap, and Dark Mode.
Bit Slicer 1.9.2 is freeware for macOS 11.5 or later and runs on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs; earlier releases cover macOS 10.14.6, 10.13, 10.11, 10.10, 10.8, and 10.6.8, with version 1.6.2 requiring a 64-bit Intel Mac. It runs as a normal user instead of root, and usage guidance is available in the wiki, with Discord support and development discussion available but not continuously staffed. Contributions can include GitHub development, issue reports, wiki improvements, translations, source-code work, and feature requests under the project’s Code of Conduct.
