Bitcoin Confidential lets users make non-staking payments with RingCT privacy, making transactions untraceable and preserving the interchangeability of coins on the blockchain. It combines Proof of Stake with Ring Confidential Signatures, using a design derived from the latest Bitcoin codebase to support compatibility with Bitcoin-derived features. Ring signatures avoid the trusted setup, group arrangement, or private-key ceremony associated with zk-SNARKS.

The network uses an enhanced version of Proof-of-Stake Protocol v3.0 with additional capabilities. Its coin-generation model is intended to be trustless and verifiably secure, while keeping the total supply auditable. Cold staking allows an offline wallet to earn rewards while contributing to continuous network security.

A self-funded budget supports continuing development, marketing, and user support. The project suits cryptocurrency users who want private everyday transfers, as well as stakeholders who wish to earn through cold staking without keeping a wallet online.
