BlueBubbles2.1.6.0

BlueBubbles brings iMessage conversations to a Linux desktop, letting users read and send messages through a dedicated client. It addresses the gap for people whose everyday computer runs Linux while their conversations remain tied to Apple’s messaging service.

Alongside text conversations, it supports voice-message recording and playback, with the current release correcting playback on arm64 systems. Its two-column settings view highlights the page currently open, and sending messages now produces smoother list animations. Backups and restore can fall back to local backups and show an offline notice when the server cannot be reached.

BlueBubbles is part of a community-driven, open-source ecosystem that brings iMessage access to Android, Windows, Linux, and the Web. It suits people who want their iMessage conversations, contacts, notifications, and voice messages available from a Linux computer as part of that cross-platform setup.

Version 2.1.6.0 is a bug-fix release following issues found during the v2.x rollout, and its splash screen now shows migration progress before offering options to close or report a startup that has actually stalled. It also fixes socket state problems that could leave connection status stale, stack listeners, and generate excess errors, along with contact matching, notification avatar paths, two-column navigation, skin-specific dialogs, and stale Theme Studio state. The release removes the stale connection indicator setting.
