BYTZ lets Linux users exchange value around media content through a decentralized peer-to-peer digital currency. Its open-source design uses Delegated Proof of Stake and a permissionless staking network to support participation in validating the chain. The project is aimed at content creators, audiences, and advertisers who need blockchain-based tools for exchanging value and coordinating media activity.

The network is organized into three layers: core code maintains the currency, Guardian Validator Nodes operated by enterprise companies help secure, guide, and expand the network, and the Token layer handles tokenized content. Creators can issue and collect content tokens, control access to media, and record each individual view. Transparent Media Analytics turns engagement data into measures of advertising expenditure and returns, while also supporting creator rewards tied to the value their content generates. Creation, distribution, and engagement can therefore contribute to an incentivized partnership alongside ownership and consumption.
