ClaviRom

ClaviRom is an open-source Android keyboard and IME adapted from HeliBoard, which is based on AOSP and OpenBoard. It is designed for people who type in Swiss Romansh languages and want language-specific input support. ClaviRom does not use Internet permission, so it operates entirely offline.

The keyboard provides spell checking and next-word proposals for Puter, Surmiran, Sursilvan, Sutsilvan, Vallader, and Rumantsch Grischun. A welcome wizard in Romansh languages helps users set up the keyboard. Users can add dictionaries for suggestions and spell checking, either by building them or obtaining available dictionaries from the HeliBoard dictionary project. Dictionaries for emojis or scientific symbols can also supply suggestions, while Korean suggestions require a specific compatible dictionary.

ClaviRom supports customized keyboard themes, including styles, colors, and background images. On Android 10 and later, and on some Android 9 versions, the theme can follow the system day and night setting, while Android 12 and later can provide dynamic colors. Users can customize keyboard, symbol, number, and functional-key layouts when system language use is disabled. Other functions include multilingual typing, clipboard history, and one-handed mode.

Glide typing is supported only through a closed-source library, which is not included with the app because no compatible open-source library is available. As an Android Keyboard & IME package, ClaviRom is intended to be selected and used as an input method on compatible Android devices. MirrorNest mirrors the official build on its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing it.
