Type in Swiss Romansh with language-specific spell checking and next-word suggestions using ClaviRom, an offline keyboard that works entirely on the device without Internet permission. This open-source Android keyboard and input method is adapted from HeliBoard, whose foundations come from AOSP and OpenBoard. It supports Puter, Surmiran, Sursilvan, Sutsilvan, Vallader, and Rumantsch Grischun, making it useful for everyday messaging, writing, and multilingual text entry.

A Romansh-language welcome wizard guides initial keyboard setup, while additional dictionaries can be built or obtained from the HeliBoard dictionary project. Emoji and scientific-symbol dictionaries can also contribute suggestions, and Korean suggestions depend on a specifically compatible dictionary. Users can change keyboard themes through styles, colors, and background images, with system day/night matching available on Android 10 and later and some Android 9 versions; Android 12 and later can also supply dynamic colors.

The keyboard offers customizable keyboard, symbol, number, and functional-key layouts when system language use is disabled, along with multilingual typing, clipboard history, and one-handed mode. Glide typing is available only through a closed-source library that is not bundled because no compatible open-source library exists.

ClaviRom 3.8.1 improves the Puter and Vallader layouts and adds English to the Welcome Wizard. It runs on Android 5.0 or newer for arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 devices, and is intended to be selected as an input method on compatible Android hardware.
