Load a folder of photographs into RAM, let CoolCroco make its first pass, then move through hundreds of RAW frames forwards or backwards without decoding them again. It reads major RAW formats from Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Leica and other cameras, along with HEIC/HEIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF and WebP.

Cull with A to move a file into Approved/, X to move it into Rejected/, and Ctrl+Z to restore it; photographs are moved rather than deleted. Rate images from 1 to 5, use G for a contact sheet, or browse with a resizable thumbnail filmstrip. Ratings are written where Lightroom, Bridge and Capture One can read them.

Search by image content using terms such as “motorcycle” or “stars over a lake”; the search runs on the local computer and does not use face recognition. CoolCroco also identifies near-duplicates, bursts, timelapses, soft frames, focus problems and camera shake, while sticky zoom keeps the same image area aligned across frames and zooming decodes at full resolution. EXIF appears in the properties, selected EXIF can be removed with a restorable backup, and IPTC data can be written into the file or a sidecar. It runs on Linux with snapd on amd64 systems; photographs on SD cards or external drives require the removable-media permission.
