CypherLeaf lets you write and maintain private notes locally on an Android device, giving you a place to draft and organize information without relying on an online service. Its local-storage design lets the release build work without requesting internet permission. Notes can be sorted into folders and marked with tags, while pinned entries remain easy to find.

Deleted notes move to a trash area where they can be restored, and attachments can be kept with individual notes. Reminders send notifications for entries that need attention, while a home-screen widget surfaces recent and pinned notes. Light and dark themes are available, along with an adjustable font size.

You can lock the app through Android biometrics or the device screen lock, and individual protected notes are encrypted with AES-GCM using a key held separately from the notes database in Android Keystore. Notes can be exported as plain text, Markdown, or JSON; encrypted backups use a passphrase with PBKDF2 and AES-GCM, so protected notes and encrypted backups remain unreadable outside the device.
