About
Damask automatically sets your desktop wallpaper from images gathered on the web, replacing the need to choose a new background manually. It can draw wallpapers from wallhaven.cc, Microsoft Bing Wallpaper of the day, NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day, Google Earth View, and Microsoft Spotlight. The application selects an image from these supported sources and applies it as the system wallpaper.
It suits Linux users who want changing desktop scenery from online photography, artwork, space imagery, or Microsoft’s curated backgrounds. Its narrowly focused workflow makes it useful for a personal desktop, a workstation, or any Linux session where the wallpaper should come from online sources rather than a manually maintained image folder. Damask runs on Linux and is distributed as open-source software.
The current release is version 0.3.2, which adds Microsoft Spotlight as a wallpaper source. It also updates the Estonian and Russian translations, improving the localized interface for speakers of those languages. Because its supported inputs are specific web-based wallpaper services, the available imagery depends on those five integrated sources rather than arbitrary image providers.
Requires Linux + Flatpak · Architecture: x86_64, aarch64
