About

Check USB Debugging and Wireless Debugging at a glance from an Android home-screen widget, without opening Developer Options first. Debug Mode Widget shows each setting as an on-or-off status and provides a single place to reach the related system controls. It is useful when verifying debugging access before development work or checking a device’s current configuration.

Tapping either debugging row opens Android’s Developer Options screen, while the Running Services shortcut opens Android’s Running Services screen. A refresh button rereads the current debugging states while you remain on the home screen. This gives the widget a focused role for quick status checks and access to commonly related system pages.

The app has no launcher icon and works entirely through its home-screen widget. To add it, long-press the home screen, choose Widgets, find Debug Mode, and drag it into position. It does not run background processes, send notifications, require internet permission, or track users.

Debug Mode Widget is open-source System Tools software for Android 6.0+, with arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 support. The current 1.1.2 release corrects the dependency-signing metadata handling so the unwanted block is removed from the APK, with no user-visible changes.

What's new in v1.1.2

Build fix only: the v1.1.1 attempt to strip AGP's dependency metadata signing block used the wrong Gradle property name and had no effect, so the released APK still failed F-Droid's scanner. This release moves the setting into the dependenciesInfo DSL, verified to remove the block. No user-visible changes.
