DERP Server for Tailscale

DERP Server for Tailscale is an open-source Linux package for operating a personal DERP relay server. It is intended for people who want to run their own relay rather than rely only on publicly available DERP servers. The package installs the DERP server and starts its service automatically.

Configuration is managed through snap settings. Administrators can set a custom hostname, choose an HTTP or HTTPS listening address, configure the STUN UDP port, and control client verification through a local tailscaled instance. Client verification can be enabled or disabled with its corresponding setting. HTTPS is used when the service listens on port 443 or when manual certificate mode is selected.

The software is distributed as a Linux snap through MirrorNest’s System Tools category. MirrorNest stores the official build directly on its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing. This distribution fits Linux environments where snap-based installation and settings management are appropriate.
