Run DigiByte’s core software to participate in and examine a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency network built around a UTXO blockchain. It provides the project’s core network component for users working with DigiByte rather than serving as a general-purpose utility or development environment. Maintained by DigiByte Developers, its open-source code can be inspected as part of evaluating how the blockchain software operates.

The DigiByte network produces blocks every 15 seconds and uses five parallel proof-of-work algorithms: SHA-256d, Scrypt, Skein, Qubit, and Odocrypt. Odocrypt changes its algorithm configuration every 10 days, while the chain incorporates features including DigiShield, MultiAlgo, SegWit, Dandelion++, and DigiAssets. The network supports DGB, native custom assets, decentralized Digi-ID authentication, and DigiDollar, a non-custodial stablecoin live on mainnet.

This software suits Linux users who want to work directly with DigiByte’s blockchain, inspect its open-source implementation, or use the project’s core infrastructure in digital-currency and asset-transfer situations. DigiAssets can represent tokens, stablecoins, or identity records, with transfers settling through the same 15-second block cycle. Since January 2014, the mainnet has produced blocks continuously through thousands of independently operated nodes, without deep reorganizations, governance forks, or emergency hard forks.

Version 7.17.3 runs on Linux with snapd and targets x86_64 (amd64) systems. DigiByte uses a transparent monthly-reduction issuance schedule capped at 21 billion DGB, with no developer tax, governance unlocks, or hidden allocations. The software is released under an open-source license.
