DOSBox Staging is mostly a drop-in replacement, so existing DOSBox configuration files continue to work while advanced features remain available. Version 0.83.0 supports macOS 12 Monterey and later, with builds for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Slirp is supplied separately as a dynamic library and is loaded at runtime when available; plain zlib can be used as an alternative dependency. Users interested in enhanced Roland SC-55 audio can also use the optional Nuked SC-55 CLAP plugin, which is a separate project rather than part of DOSBox Staging itself.
