dreamDroid

dreamDroid is an open-source Android client for controlling Enigma2-based Dreambox receivers. It is intended for people who want to manage compatible receivers and access their television and recording functions from an Android device. The supported models are dm9x0 ultraHD, dm7080hd, dm820hd, dm520hd, dm525hd, dm500hd, dm800, dm800se, dm7020hd, dm7025, and dm8000.

The app supports unlimited connection profiles, allowing users to configure more than one supported Dreambox. It can show what is currently running, browse channels and their electronic program guides, search the EPG, and browse recorded movies. Users can manage timers through the EPG or create them manually, and can stream a channel or recording through the integrated player or a capable external Android video player, with streaming marked as beta.

dreamDroid provides two virtual remote controls, including Simple and Full versions. It also includes a signal meter with acoustic feedback for adjusting a dish or checking reception quality, along with messaging, screenshots that can be saved, and a shutdown timer. The interface offers a dark theme by default and a light theme as an alternative.

As an Android application in the Video & Media Players category, dreamDroid fits devices used to view, organize, and control media from compatible receivers. It is not fully compatible with OpenWebIf, so that limitation applies when assessing whether a particular setup will work.
