DuressKeyboardLite lets you trigger a configured Duress Password from the lock screen when you are being forced to unlock your phone. Instead of entering your normal password, you type this special reset code through the keyboard and tap its Enter arrow (⏎), which initiates the phone-data reset response.

The code is set within the app, while the keyboard supplies the entry method in password fields. It is designed as a safe, fast keyboard with a focused DuressPassword function rather than a full-featured typing suite. To use the duress function, you must set DuressKeyboardLite as the phone’s default keyboard.

The feature depends on keyboard support in the lock-screen password field, and it is not supported on Chinese, Realme, or Oppo phones. It is intended for people who may need a discreet response during a forced-unlock situation, such as protecting sensitive personal data while surrendering access to the device.

This open-source Android System Tools release is at version 17.0, requires Android 10 or later, and uses Universal architecture. It is a simplified edition with reduced functionality compared with DuressKeyboard, while providing improved compatibility with newer Android versions. Its deliberately narrow feature set centers the app on configuring and activating the duress code through the keyboard.
