ElectronMail5.3.10

ElectronMail gives Linux users a desktop window for reading and managing ProtonMail messages instead of using the service solely in a browser. It is an unofficial Electron-based client, written in TypeScript with Angular, that adds desktop features not available in ProtonMail’s official in-browser clients.

The application can retain email body content in an encrypted local database.bin store, allowing messages to be viewed offline and searched with full-text matching, including their body text. Stored messages can be exported as EML or JSON, while batch EML export can optionally include attachments in online or live mode; attachments are not stored locally and therefore cannot be included in offline exports. Prepackaged Proton web clients are included, and reproducible-build support is part of the project.

Multiple ProtonMail accounts can be used with separate API entry points, including a Tor v3 address selected for an account and a per-account proxy configuration. Account-handle buttons can be positioned at the top, on the left, or in a thin left-side layout, giving users control over the desktop arrangement.

Published by Vladimir Yakovlev, ElectronMail is open-source and suits ProtonMail users who want offline message access, local searching, and desktop account management. Version 5.3.10 runs on Linux with snapd on x86_64 (amd64) systems; ProtonMail accounts are used for the connected mail services.
