Emborg

Emborg is an open-source Android application for browsing and working with Org-mode files stored on a device. It is intended for people who keep notes, documents, or task information in .org files and want to access them from one place. The app can open .org files from any folder through Android’s Storage Access Framework.

Its viewer presents Org markup in a lightweight formatted layout, including headings, paragraphs, lists, bold text, italic text, and links. Emborg also gathers TODO items from all of a user’s .org files into a single cross-file task list. A task editor allows TODO states, tags, and notes to be managed from that list. Light and dark themes provide two display options.

Emborg works fully offline and has no network access, analytics, ads, or tracking. It is categorized under Reading & Writing on Android, fitting users who read Org files and maintain tasks in the same file format. MirrorNest distributes the official build directly from its own storage after scanning it for malware before publication.
