Fcitx5 (Sayura Plugin)

Enter Sinhala text in Android messages, documents, search boxes, and other compatible fields by selecting Sayura through Fcitx5. Fcitx5 (Sayura Plugin) connects the Sayura Sinhala input method engine to the Fcitx5 Android input environment, providing a dedicated Sinhala composition method. After it is selected within Fcitx5, the method can be used alongside other configured input methods during everyday typing.

The plugin is aimed at Sinhala speakers, bilingual users, and people who need Sinhala entry together with additional Fcitx5 methods. Its key distinction is that Sayura operates as an integrated Fcitx5 input engine rather than as a separate writing application. This makes it useful when switching between Sinhala and other languages within the same Android keyboard workflow.

It runs on Android 6.0 or newer devices using the arm64-v8a architecture, and the current version is 0.1.3-0-g048f581c. The software is open-source. Development progress and planned work are tracked on a Trello board, while community discussion is available through a Matrix room and a Telegram group; those two chat spaces are connected to one another.
