FileZilla®

FileZilla® provides fast file transfers between a Linux computer and a remote web server, giving site maintainers a practical way to publish, retrieve, and organize hosted files. It connects through FTP, SFTP, or FTPS, covering standard transfers as well as secure and encrypted connection methods. Its two-pane browsing interface displays local and server directories so users can choose files and folders to move between them.

The client compares local files with those in a server directory, helping users spot differences while managing synchronized content. Tabbed connections keep multiple servers open in one workspace, while simultaneous transfers let users send files to several servers at once. Server-side files can also be edited while the relevant connection remains open.

These capabilities suit web developers, administrators, and Linux users who maintain hosted site content or exchange files with remote machines. FileZilla is open-source software published by Tim Kosse and supports 47 languages. The current version is current, and this release is for Linux.
