Firefly2.1.2

Firefly lets you manage IOTA assets, tokens, and collectibles from a Mac, while also staking holdings and voting on ecosystem governance decisions. It is the official wallet for both IOTA and Shimmer, giving users a desktop entry point for sending, receiving, and organizing their digital assets. The Stardust-compatible release adds native-token and NFT support, along with tools for minting tokens, setting transaction expiry times, and sending microtransactions.

Native tokens can be transferred without fees, and Firefly lets you manually identify which assets to trust. NFT owners can manage collections and choose to reject or burn incoming items, while staking rewards and governance votes are handled within the wallet. Software wallets and hardware wallets are supported, including separate wallets for a main account, spending funds, or a Ledger Nano account. Profiles allow multiple people to use the same computer with separate secure spaces.

Developers and creators can use the native-token minting tools, while network-health indicators, automated update notices, and backup and security reminders provide operational guidance. Stronghold technology protects wallet data, and sensitive tasks such as address creation and transaction signing run in isolated application memory. Firefly’s modular separation of seed storage, transactions, and cryptography also supports future feature additions.

Firefly 2.1.2 is freeware for macOS and runs on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Its Stardust-era feature set makes it useful for IOTA users handling everyday transfers, token projects, NFTs, staking, or community governance.
