Firefly Shimmer2.2.2

Firefly Shimmer lets desktop users manage IOTA and Shimmer assets from one wallet, serving as the official wallet for both ecosystems. It supports software and hardware wallets, with separate wallets for dividing funds among a main account, spending account, or Ledger Nano account. Users can stake assets for rewards and vote on ecosystem governance proposals.

Its Stardust-compatible IOTA release adds native-token and NFT support, including minting tools for developers and creators. Native tokens can be sent and received without fees, while trust controls let users verify which assets they accept; transaction-expiry settings and microtransactions add further Shimmer-specific controls. NFT holders can organize collections, reject incoming items, or burn them.

Multiple profiles let people use the app securely on the same device, while automated reminders cover backups, security, and software updates. Network indicators report the current health of the IOTA network, and Stronghold technology protects sensitive wallet operations. Address generation and transaction signing take place in isolated application memory, keeping the seed away from potential attackers.

Its modular Rust design separates seed storage, transaction handling, and cryptography into reusable crates, supporting speed, low memory use, scalability, and later feature additions. Version 2.2.2 is freeware for MacOS on Intel and Apple Silicon. It suits IOTA users, Shimmer participants, creators minting tokens or NFTs, and anyone seeking staking or governance access alongside everyday wallet management.
