Give a Linux desktop a colorful, Material Design-inspired appearance by applying flat-remix, the Flat Remix icon theme. It replaces application and system icons with mostly flat artwork, adding selected shadows, highlights, and gradients to create visual depth.

The theme is packaged as a Snap, allowing it to be applied to an individual application or extended across all installed Snap applications. Its Snap integration requires an available icon-themes plug, which connects the theme to applications that support themed icons. Local Snap builds use Multipass as the build environment.

flat-remix suits Linux users who want a consistent desktop icon style for everyday work, personal customization, or testing a Material-inspired visual design. It is distributed as open-source software and targets x86_64 (amd64) systems. The current version is 20220525.

It requires Linux with snapd, so the Snap-based application environment is part of its operating requirements. Flat Remix itself is credited to the developers of the Flat Remix project, with this package maintained as a Snap by the jollygoose publisher account.
