Google Family Link

Parents can set daily screen-time limits on a child’s Android device, helping establish clear boundaries around connected-device and online-service use. Google Family Link shows how the child spends time on the device and lets parents review privacy settings and location information. School-time and downtime schedules provide separate rules for periods when access should be organized or reduced.

App controls support individual time limits, blocking, and unlimited access for selected educational or regularly used apps. Parents can manage settings for Chrome, Google Play, YouTube, and Search, including website restrictions and approval for newly requested apps. Controls also cover app and website permissions, along with the child’s account and data settings.

Family Link can help a parent change or reset the child’s password, edit personal information, or delete the account when necessary. When children are carrying their devices, their locations can appear together on one map, with arrival and departure alerts, a ring command, and remaining-battery information available for practical supervision. The current version adds a simplified design and a dedicated screen time tab.
